Salisbury steak
Hubby loves Salisbury steak so I tried to find a healthier version for us. He loves this one and so do I.
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can French onion soup
1 1/4 lbs ground turkey 97/3
1/2 cup crushed pork rinds
1 egg
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper, to taste
1 McCormicks brown gravy packet
2 tbsp Heinz reduced sugar ketchup
4.5 oz jar sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup water
In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 cup condensed French onion soup with ground turkey, pork rinds, egg and black pepper.
Shape into 6 patties.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of patties (approximately 10 minutes). I used my non stick green skillet so I didn't need to use oil or spray but you may need to to ensure they don't stic to your pan.
Remove patties from skillet and Pour off excess fat.
In a small bowl, blend gravy packet and remaining soup and water until smooth. Mix in ketchup.
Pour into skillet and whisk to cook/thicken. Add jar of drained mushrooms. Stir then add meat patties back into skillet, spooning gravy over patties.
Cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

I had a smal scoop of mash potatoes with my patty. It was delish. You could use mashed cauliflower as a sub.
