Breakfast items

I've had a few new things I eat and drink in the mornings I wanted to share

My morning protein coffee. I have two ways I make it depending on if I'm want caffeine or not. The first way is decaf and my post with that recipe is here http://mywlsfoodjourney.blogspot.com/2015/03/protein-coffee.html?m=0

My second, and new found way when I need some caffeine is using Starbucks skinny vanilla latte. It's premade and found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, near the milk. I use 4-5 oz of latte and then 5 oz (half bottle) of Premier chocolate protein shake. Pour over ice for a fantastic iced coffee with low carbs & protein ratios totally on WL plan of 1:10.

Another new breakfast item is a sandwhich I make using Joseph's flax oat bran and whole wheat pita bread. It's nutritional info is right on plan for us WLS patients. Perfect amount of carbs and hits the 1:10 protein calorie ratio. I love to cook up an egg and have a slice of melted 2% cheese with a piece of Canadian bacon. It's just like any other presurgery sandwhich. I cut the pita into 2 pieces like bread instead of making a pocket.

And my last new breakfast treat I love is super simple. Using Fat Free Fairlife milk and sugar free chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk. They don't make chocolate in FF so I add 1 TBSP of syrup and a cup of milk. It only adds 8 additional calories and 2 carbs to the milk. I'm in chocolate heaven!!
